The Nordstrom Conundrum

Left: Cheap patriotica, a favorite of hillbillies and rednecks. Trashy.

Right: Expensive patriotica, on the inside front page of this year’s Nordstrom Christmas catalog. Classy.

Although, fans of the stuff on the right would recoil in horror to be compared to fans of the stuff on the left.

Can’t even bother to write out the words in a death condolence? Where’d those Iowa manners go?

Vets to Kids: Don’t Kiss Frogs

Filed under: Brandcameo, Product Placement — admin @ 09:36

Yes, there is a press release:

“The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV) are reminding the public that instead of a prince, improper handling of amphibians and reptiles—and that includes kissing a frog—can result in a nasty illness.”

The Lightning Thief: A Greek God of Apple Product Placement

In February Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief will hit theaters. The story about a normal kid who discovers he’s a descendant of Greek god is clearly aimed at the Harry Potter set. And the Apple set.

The trailers alone are a grotesquerie of iPhone/iPod product placement. Who knows what the rest of the film has in store.

Apple Product Placement: Date Night Previews Future Mac

Probably not. But really, look at this crazy thing (below) from the upcoming Steve Carell/Tina Fey film Date Night. That certainly looks like a trademark Mac keyboard. And that Apple logo is from Ape’s trailer site, not the film.

(As a side note: How do those see-through screen work? Wouldn’t your view of what’s on-screen be messed up by the stuf you could see behind it? Sure it looks great on TV or whatever and screams “THE FUTURE!” but… dumb, no?)
